UBE CONFERENCE OVERVIEW

The UBE Conference will be held at Mesa Community College (MCC), in Mesa Arizona. MCC is the largest of 10 institutions in the Maricopa County Community College District (MCCCD), is a current member institution of WRCBAA through the local Maricopa Council on Black American Affairs (MCBAA).  MCBAA is excited to host the conference in this location as it serves as an opportunity to continue to build a relationship with the institution and its leadership.  The Mesa, AZ area is home to a variety of curated hotels, shops and accommodations and is easily accessed via major freeways and home to an international commuter airport
The inaugural Unapologetically Black and Educated Conference (UBE) sponsored by the Maricopa Council on Black American Affairs (MCBAA) will bring together senior-level administrators and academic leaders, faculty, classified staff, students, from colleges and universities across the nation.  The conference’s mission to boldly and courageously support  black student success and representation in higher education are pillars of paramount importance. To that end, the conference aims to explore the various facets and means by which this goal can be accomplished through the roles black educators have on campuses both within and outside the classroom. 
This groundbreaking conference brings together Black scholars, activists, professionals, and artists from across the country to explore the intersection of education, identity, and empowerment in the higher education and beyond. From thought-provoking keynote speeches to engaging workshops and panels, this three-day event promises to ignite your intellect, challenge boundaries, and foster deep connections.
The Western Region invites you to immerse yourself in a vibrant and inclusive environment where your voice matters.
