The inaugural Unapologetically Black and Educated Conference (UBE) sponsored by the Western Region Council on Black American Affairs (WRCBAA) will bring together senior-level administrators and academic leaders, faculty, classified staff, students, from colleges and universities across the nation. Topics related to the conference’s mission of boldly and courageously supporting black student success and representation in higher education are sought. The conference explores the various facets and means by which this goal can be accomplished through the roles black educators have on campuses both within and outside the classroom.
The UBE Conference will be held at Mesa Community College (MCC), in Mesa Arizona. MCC is the largest of 10 institutions in the Maricopa County Community College District (MCCCD), is a current member institution of WRCBAA, and is led by one of the most prominent College Presidents in the nation, Dr. Tammy Robinson. WRCBAA is excited to host the conference in this location as it serves as an opportunity to continue to build a relationship with the institution and its leadership. The Mesa, AZ area is home to a variety of curated hotels, shops and hotel accommodations and is easily accessed via major freeways and home to an international commuter airport.
